Mustard Fish Curry

Mustard Fish curry is a popular Bengali dish.(West Bengal is a state in Eastern India.)You get this recipe online ,so what is new in this? Let's check.

Bengali cuisine uses the strong flavor of mustard oil in most of their recipes.I know,many of us may not like the flavor.So here,we are not using mustard oil,instead,adding yellow mustard paste to vegetable oil.Also we are adding a paste of mustard seeds with coconut,same as Bengali fish curry recipe.

Ingredients
Fish - any fish-250 g
Yellow mustard paste- 1 tsp
Onion- 1 big (chopped into small pieces)
Ginger- chopped-1 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder-
Red chilly powder-
Salt-
Whole spice powder or Garam masala- 1/2 tsp
Green chilly- slit-4 nos
Grated Coconut- 1/2 cup
Vinegar- 1 tsp
Hot water- 1cup

For Tampering
Shallots- 2 nos chopped
Dry red chilly- 2 nos
Mustard seeds- 1 tsp
How To Prepare this Mustard Fish Curry
1.Clean fish with salt and vinegar.
2. Marinate fish with  turmeric powder,some whole spice powder,salt and chilly powder .Keep aside for 15 minutes.
3.In a heavy bottom skillet,add some vegetable oil.Add 1 tsp of yellow mustard paste and some turmeric powder.This is to flavor the oil,in which we are preparing the fish.
4.Add chopped onion,green chillies,ginger chopped and salt to this oil.Saute well.
5.Add marinated fish to the same  oil and allow it to get fried lightly.
6.Now add some chilly powder,a bit more salt and hot water to this and cook the fish well.Add in a tsp of vinegar for tartness.
7. Blend grated coconut with 1 tsp mustard seeds and turmeric powder.
8. Add in the coconut paste to the gravy and mix well.Allow it to start boil .
9.Tamper the curry with mustard seeds,dry red chilly and curry leaves.
10.Serve hot with rice or Chapati.

Easy Microwave Cooking

Chocolate Mocha Cake
Here is a super simple recipe for a soft tasty chocolate mocha cake.  Soft and  rich eggless cake in less than 10 minutes.
This is my version of eggless chocolate cake, after trying all those recipes by others.
Step 1
Dry Ingredients
Cocoa powder    --- ½ cup
All purpose flour – 1-1/4 cup
Baking powder - 1 tsp
Baking soda   - 1 tsp
Salt                 - ¼ tsp
Whisk dry ingredients together with a fork. No need to sieve.
Step 2
Butter         - 75-80 g
Dark chocolate –20 g
Oil                     - 1 tab sp
Yogurt           -- 1 cup
Sugar              -- ¾ cup
Coffee           --- 1 tsp dissolved in 2 tab sp hot water.
Vanilla essence – 1tsp

In a sauce pan melt 80g butter, add chocolate and melt.
Cool the mix.
Combine dry ingredients, butter-chocolate mix, oil, sugar, yogurt and coffee, mix well.
Add enough water/buttermilk to get a dropping consistency.

Bake in a microwave high power for 6 minutes. You will get very high cake .
Frosting
Cool the cake very well before frosting.
Beat together 200g cream cheese and 1/2 cup powdered sugar .Add vanilla essence.
Cover the cake completely with cream on all sides and the top.Sprinkle chocolate bits or cocoa powder .
