Vermicelli Rice

This is again a kid's favorite. Buttery rice with vermicelli .This can be a great and easy Party item too.So here's the recipe.
Ingredients
Long grain (Basmati) Rice-2 cups
Vermicelli-3/4 cup
Butter-1 tbsp
Salt-to taste
Method 
Wash and soak rice for 10 minutes.Fry it in 2tsp butter ,add 31/2 cups of water and then cook on medium fire.
Fry the Vermicelli in another spoon of butter.When it's brown,add very little water and let it cook well.Now add the cooked rice little at a time and mix well with the rice.Add salt to taste.
You can add some more butter on top.Mix well and serve hot.
Our special,delicious,buttery rice is ready !!!!

Short Bread Cookie

Classic Short Bread Fingers
This is the simplest cookie recipe .Rich,buttery,a bit crumbly and very tasty.I always wanted to try this recipe and finally  made it.
Ingredients
Flour-2 cups
Butter-125g
Powdered Sugar-1/4 cup
Vanilla essence-1 tsp

That's it..simple isn't it?
Method of Preparation
1.Beat butter and sugar until smooth and fluffy.Add in vanilla essence and mix well.



2.Add flour little at a time and mix a soft dough.


 Arrange a parchment paper in a baking tray.Spread the dough evenly on it.


3.Now with a knife make short bread fingers on the dough as you can see in the picture below.

4.  Prick each cookie with a fork.Picture explains this step well.

4.Sprinkle some powdered sugar on top.Bake at 170 degrees for 30-40 minutes or until the top is golden.Cool well so that it gets harden a bit .As you know,this should be not at all crispy,but soft and crumbly.

Serve it with Tea or a glass of Milk.
