Wheat Balls (Laddoo)

India...Is a Multi cultural society with many celebrations...Festivals...And  Laddoo is an integral part of any Festival.

So here is a simple recipe for Wheat Laddu/Laddoo.This is a healthy Laddoo for kids especially.
This recipe contains  wheat flour and nuts with some butter and sugar.Replace butter with low fat margarine and sugar with Jaggery/sugar substitute .Then this can be a completely healthy snack.
So here we go..
Ingredients



Wheat flour (atta)- 2 cups
Sugar-Powdered-1 cup
Almonds-1/2 cup
Milk-2 tbsp
Butter/Margarine- 2-3 tbsp
Cardamom-2 nos

Method Of Preparation 
1.Heat a non stick pan and dry fry wheat for 3-5 minutes until light brown.
2.Now add the butter/margarine and mix well with a spatula.Butter should coat all the wheat flour nicely and let this fry for 3-4 minutes.Now a nice aroma emerges.

3.Add in the powdered sugar.Sugar has been powdered along with whole cardamoms.
Mix really well.
4.Now add milk little by little and mix until it turns smooth.Allow it to cook well.
5.Add in chopped nuts.

And mix well.
6.When its warm mix it well with hands.

7.Make balls and coat with powdered sugar.

ENJOY  delicious nutritious Laddoos!!!!

Carrot Halwa (Delicious Indian Dessert)

Carrot Halwa.An Indian, healthy and delicious dessert.
There are many methods available, this recipe is my version and I found it so quick and easy.
Ingredients
Carrots-4nos
Milk-1/4 cup
Sugar-1/2Cup (and 1tbsp if needed.)
Double cream-1/4 cup (2tbsp is enough for those who are extra health conscious)
Cardamom-1tsp
Ghee-2tsp
Nuts-Almonds,Cashews or Walnuts
Method of preparation
Grate the carrot.
Take a pan and add 1tsp Ghee, sauté the grated carrot in the ghee for 2 minutes, now add 1/2 cup milk and cook the carrot well.
Now add 1/4 cup sugar and cardamom.
Sauté well for 3-4 minutes.
Now add the cream and stir well until dry. Finally add the rest of (1 tsp) ghee.
If you want add the rest of the sugar. And make it dry; turn off when it's light brown.
Decorate with nuts.
(Refer the picture above, for the right texture)
Serve it hot or cold with or with out Ice cream .
You can also serve this with Poori an Indian fried bread.

Besan Ladoo

Basan Ladoo

Besan Ladoo is the easiest of any Indian sweet dish. Just follow the measurements given and there you are..!!!

Ingredients

Gram Flour (Chickpea Flour (Besan))- 2 cups
Ghee – 1 cup
Sugar 1-1/14 cup
Almonds (Pistachios)
Method
Melt Ghee in a heavy bottom pan.
Add Gram flour and mix well without lumps over a very low heat.
The aroma will tell you whether the flour is cooked in ghee. Now switch off the stove and add sugar .Mix thoroughly with a spatula.

When it’s still slightly hot, make small balls or Ladoos .Garnish with nuts.
