Spiritual Liberation

Today's blog post is on knowing the real you.
There is no scientific proof for any of these; I haven't used any external references to prove any of these. Everything written here are my true intuitions after analysing my experiences.

Please bear with me, if you find this particular post a bit strange. Please consider all the views below as my own and no proofs I can provide, right now.
To those, who perhaps are raising an eyebrow, right now--do not bother, I am completely sane, even now. :)

Where does creativity come from? When writing a story or making a creative art form , we get ideas from a central source of knowledge. To connect to this knowledge source, we should stay very focused, like in meditation.
I guess 'this knowledge source' is like a thick wave around us, invisible,  only a true seeker can connect to it. Or it is a pond inside which we all live like fishes-unaware about the ocean of knowledge in which we have been immersed in---caring only about the perishable illusions such as money, beauty and suchlike.

A really focused mind (as when meditate) is needed to get this connection with the knowledge wave. This doesn't mean that only meditation can open the window to this knowledge wave. Strong desires , pain , shock and prayers also have the same effect as meditation on the mortals.
So, I guess, all of us including those greatest scholars are getting the data/idea from the same knowledge wave, that may be the reason why sometimes it so happens that two people write the same idea/thought, unknowingly.

Now again, I guess," passion for something" is the only catalyst that can help an ignorant mortal to really dissolve and penetrate the knowledge wave to reach the next level, i.e...; soul conciousness.

The whole thing can be simplified as the diagram below.

The strong , selfless affinity towards something (work/hobby/art) or someone- can open up the windows of the knowledge/conciousness .
Sometimes, the 'someone' can also be the idol of God. Because even non living things emit energy, according to Newton. That may be the reason why "Bhakthi"(or devotion) can also give "moksha" or Liberation.

Knowledge transcendence happens to the seeker and raises to a superior intellectual level. But to reach soul consciousness level, is really difficult. May be two or more seekers can help each other in this. Like 'Guru' and 'Shishya' or two lovers. They can even reach the soul consciousness level with the power of their thoughts.
Telepathic transfer of knowledge happens between the two devoted souls; after a point of time, they start understanding each others thoughts, in silence, of course.
Selflessness is really required as physicality or yearning for worldly things obstructs this process and keeps you inside the 'illusion' for longer time.

After death even the energy/soul, being imperishable,  stays as part of soul conciousness wave (refer the red circle in the picture) which is the next to knowledge wave, somewhat dissolved in the soul consciousness wave("paramatma"). The dead person's soul dissolves in the last layer-but the strong 'vasanas' or characteristics remains preserved around us before it gets dissolved into soul consciousness completely. If this energy has something to convey to us, we just get it as our own thoughts.

If humans try to focus using any of the methods (meditation, following the passion, prayers) to achieve liberation from this materialistic, illusive world, he can penetrate the layers; using knowledge - and can reach the peaceful state of soul consciousness where verbal conversation is not needed- where only mental power prevails.

Innocence is bliss!

Parenting in a connected world.

Today, technology is growing exponentially. Smart phones are ruling the world and technology is expected to be embedded everywhere. Parenting is lot more fun today provided you are smart enough to control this new-wave rather than yielding to the spell of it.
Being mother to an 11 year old boy, I have experienced the good and bad sides of technology. Here is some useful information for those parents who are anxious about this new trend.
I know that some of those with traditional views may disagree with this new influence of technology in children. But we have left no choice other than finding the best method to take advantage from this.

       1.     Awareness is the key!
First of all, we, parents must educate ourselves on how to monitor or supervise your children’s activities online. This is simple if you have genuine interest to learn and understand new things rather than shunning away from it.
·         Educate your child about the power of mankind especially his own potential to contribute to this world: I have seen many children growing in a very unconscious manner, blindly following others, copying and comparing themselves with neighbors or classmates. This attitude kills the dynamism in young children. Teach him/her that his life's purpose is much more than any sort of addiction, say gaming addiction. Slowly educate them to find the true purpose of their own life.

   2.     Discipline is as important too!
Television and sport channels: Children can follow cricket, football or any sport- but never let the sport/hobby get into their head: Children especially boys must enjoy watching world cup or other tournaments but as a parent you must set an example in front of them. Convince them that their potential is equal to Messi’s or Sachin’s and this is their time to work hard and to improve their life in order to reach to their levels. Good marks in exams are very important as schooling is the first step to discipline. I often hear parents say that marks are not important, Bill Gates is a college dropout etc- But dear parents, do you know, Bill Gates was in Harvard and to enter there itself need high level of basic education! So even if your kid is a genius in sports, you must encourage him in getting good marks too as any sportsman needs discipline in the first hand.

        3.       Internet as an educational tool: Today, it is easy to prepare for any exam as all the resources are available at your finger tip. Make use of it.

          4.       Video Games- Any digital game, if used in a controlled manner, is helpful in child’s brain    development and for a fast thinking mind. A study says that video games can enhance the problem solving capabilities in children.

         5.       Good MoviesMovies are windows to outer world through which children learn and improve creatively.

          6.       Easy access to the world of Books- Internet is a great help if your child likes to read- You can buy books online or even download free books.
        7.       Surveillance cameras: Another digital invention for improved connectivity.
Working moms who might be forced to leave their baby with nannies are finding the surveillance cameras as a boon. Even though they know that their love is all the child needs at this stage, sometimes it might be mandatory that both the parents work.
Saying all these- there are certain areas where parents must tight the rules.
         1.       Strict time schedule for gadgets: Never let the gadget control your kid’s mind.
        2.       Strict kid safe filtering methods for internet: There are many kidsafe browsers and proxy’s available, educate yourself about it.
       3.       Never forget to set time for Outdoor games: Encourage your child to play outdoor almost every day.

Never take these technologies as a substitute for your love and care. You must constantly have
a rapport with your children. Sit and read with them, watch their shows and movies. Your love must    be  powerful enough to guide and light their paths.
Don’t leave them alone in the so called  “sophisticated” world as long as
they are too young and too innocent to face it.

Happy New Year 2015 !

on 10:26 PM

Wishing all my friends a very happy and prosperous New Year 2015 !
Thank you for reading my blog .

Good bye 2014 !

on 7:31 PM
31st Dec 2014 :

So it's time to say #Goodbye2014 !
I thank each one who took time to read my monologues, recipes and stuff...

This year was truly a roller coaster ride for me. I had set off on a particular journey back in 2007 and this year I can say that I am in the right path. It has been 7 years of struggle to find myself , my true aspirations and dreams. Some strong impacts from some unexpected sources came as some miracle, helping me out in this process. I bless them all who came as angels when in pain and uncertainty .
But life is really quirky with its own rules and plans ,so I am here to take up anything life has got in store for me.

I got a bundle of new friends and colleagues,  and lost a few . But I believe, that those who truly love me will stay there unshaken .
I got up today morning to find myself in a mood to write a poem.. yes, those who wanna run away can do it now before I start . It goes like this --------( Needless to tell u all that I am not a poet and I humbly seek my apologies to all real poets)

 An Ode to 2014

" Dear 2014, I never invited you but still you came ,
I wanted you to stay forever but you are leaving ,
painting a few graffitis on the wall of my heart
But let me ask you ?
You really came or I was just hallucinating ?
cuz, who named you 2014?
The unworthy human in his strenuous acts to acquire
own will , money and power ,
named things as per his convenience ."

Chicken in butter and cream with Mushroom

Chicken in butter and cream with Mushroom

 deepsrecipes tries julia child cooking

bonjour !

Inspired by chef Julia Child’s cooking that had well celebrated in the movie “Julie & Julia” ,I decided to plan a French combo meal. (Being my favorite cuisine, I  have plans to buy Julia Child’s cook book “Mastering the Art of French Cooking”) You know, how good movies affect us positively. :-)

So, as a result, here I am ,to share with you all, this recipe of ‘Chicken in butter and cream.

I have followed the traditional recipe (courtesy: videojug) in all the ways, except for the measurements of ingredients. This recipe,I found is divine, with rich, creamy sauce with tender juicy boneless chicken.

Recipe demands a lot of butter and cream, so if you are trying this, you have to forget your diet rules for one day.
Mushroom is really nutritious though some people are allergic to this fungus.

I recommend a special method of cleaning for Mushrooms.

  • Wash mushrooms under running water, carefully, not allowing them to disintegrate.
  • Now coat mushrooms with salt, turmeric and all purpose flour. Keep aside for 5 minutes. Wash them with fresh water and Voilà, there you are! Mushrooms are ready to go into any gravy.

Ingredients for Chicken in butter and cream with Mushroom

  • Chicken Breast – 200 g
  • Mushrooms- 100g
  • Fresh cooking cream- 5 tbsp
  • Butter- 2 tbsp
  • Thyme- 1 tsp
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Shallots- 4 no’s
  • Garlic- 2 cloves chopped
  • Parsley- To garnish
  • Mustard paste- 1 tsp
  • Sherry wine- 2-3 drops

How to prepare Chicken in butter and cream with mushroom sauce?

In a sauce pan,add butter .Add  chicken breast in to this ,sprinkle salt and pepper .After 2 minutes flip the chicken pieces and sprinkle  salt and pepper on the other side too.
After 3-4 minutes, remove chicken into another tray.Yes,I know, chicken is not done yet. We will cook it in the sauce later.
Now to the same pan, add mushrooms sliced and cook for 2 minutes. Add thyme, Shallots and garlic.
Now stir in cream and let it boil for a minute. Add mustard paste and mix well. Add Sherry then add lightly browned chicken breast pieces into this gravy and simmer and allow to cook until chicken is fork tender.
Garnish with Parsley and serve with French Spaghetti and Crostini.

Ruins Of Saint Paul's Cathedral,Macau.

History has got many strange stories.Macau old town is the Historical center of Macau with the unexceptional architecture of the Ruins Of Saint Paul's Cathedral.17th-century Portuguese cathedral-a perfect fusion of western and eastern cultures(church was caught fire for the third time when a violent typhoon hit Macau in 1835)
Really quirky,right?

My First encounter with the Buddha

Breath taking panorama with the divine presence of Buddha .The giant Tian Tan Buddha statue was covered with mist.
Lantau Island in Hong Kong is a must visit place for a serene and spiritual experience.
This majestic statue symbolizes the stability of Hong Kong, prosperity of China and peace on earth.

Below the Big Buddha statue , there is Po Lin monastery main temple.
Tian Tan Buddha, a giant Buddha statue completed in 1993, is an extension of the monastery.

Vegetarian food is available near the temple. But if you are not a big fan of traditional Cantonese delicacies, it is better to avoid eating out here.

Visiting the temple was an intriguing experience . The main temple houses three bronze statues of the Buddha – representing his past, present and future lives – as well as many Buddhist scriptures.
Nature was at it's best with heavy showers .What more can one ask for?

The place displayed a unique tranquility as the majestic Buddha statue slowly got covered by thick mist . It was one of my life's memorable moments.

India 2014

INDIA 2014-

We all believe that India has got a reformist with Mr.Narendra Modi (NaMo) who can fulfill India’s yearning for economic and social development for the last 67 years.
Not sure whether it is a sheer coincidence or NaMo has deliberately done all the strategic planning for Governance, based on Mahabharata(the ancient Indian Epic ); (only NaMo can answer this question)but upon deeper contemplation, we can see that what was written about this world, in the Great epic ,is now coming to be true and the creator for all that would be Narendra Modi.

My indication is towards the fact that many "Prophets" claim: India would be the superpower by the end of Kaliyuga.

Let us compare the current Indian situation under the helm of NaMo and the  Mahabharata, below:

According To Mahabharata—Duties of an ideal king

(Source: Mahabharata, the Great Indian Epic: Economic and Political Ideas----Ratan Lal Basu, Copyright 2011 Ratan Lal Basu, Smashwords Edition)
  •      Protection of the subjects and ensuring their happiness is the first and foremost duty of the king.·
  •          The happiness of their subjects, observance of truth, and sincerity of behavior are the eternal  duty of kings
  •  Make peace with those foes with whom (according to the ordinance) peace should be made, and wage war with them with whom war should be waged.
  •  He should feed those that have not been fed, and inquire  after those that have been fed.
  •   Taking the wealth of those that are not righteous he should give it unto them that are righteous. ( NaMo’s  investment policy)

So I feel, such a governance depicted by Mahabharata, exactly reflects in the agenda for 100 day action plan by Indian Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi:-

The top 10 priorities for Modi, according to Times Now are
•              Build confidence in bureaucracy
•              Welcome innovative ideas & babus to be given freedom to work
•              Education, Health, Water. Energy & roads will be priority
•              Transparency in the government. E-auction to be promoted
•              System will be placed for inter ministerial issues
•              People oriented system to be in placed in government machinery
•              Addressing concerns relating to economy
•              Infrastructure and investment reforms
•              Implement policy in time bound manner
•              Stability and sustain ability in government policy
There are many more things we can be interpreted from Mahabharata, but we must wait and see the results and consequences of this change in India.
Yes, wait, minimum for a 100 days …let us wait not as mere spectators, but let's also be a part of the Government …….

(This is a conceptual story of a girl, "Nirbhaya", victim of gang rape.)

The clock struck 2.30 am. She tried to open her eyes.” Ahhh…Mom…” She wanted to call out. But she felt as if she had lost control over her body; she felt her throat was about to fall apart.
“Doctor….doctor…HELP! HELP!”--She heard her mother crying out.
”Oh, Mom...you are here? What’s the matter? - She wanted to open her lips to say these words, but couldn’t. So she decided to listen as it was all what she could do at the moment.
“I am sorry, I couldn’t rescue her.” She heard her doctor’s feeble voice. Suddenly a loud wail reverberated within the  ICU walls.
Now she could see her family. She felt tranquil and unusually peaceful. Her aching body had disappeared, instead she felt as if floating in the air...She enjoyed that state of tranquility, but the chaos in the room distracted her. Wait..!! who’s that girl, near my parents? It’s a dead body, around which her whole family was crying out … ..I am….Am I dead???

She came out of the hospital .The place was crowded. Reporters, protesters...
Oh, it’s my ma’am .She is also here?

“What kind of a girl was Nirbhaya?” – One reporter asked her teacher who was trying to stop her tears.
“Nirbhaya was so intelligent with full of dreams and energy.”- Her words broke as a chilly gust of wind rushed by. The teacher wanted to say a whole story about her but she could only gaze at the journalist as if she had frozen in anguish.
Nirbhaya-A girl, who lived carefree, basking in all emotions that spur up in her...enjoyed each weed, plant or flower on the sides of the muddy pavement as she walked to school...talked to trees and they swayed back to her. She was dreamy, the smell of mud during rain made her ecstatic as she sat in her Veranda cherishing the dark sky...
As the change of Seasons, the color of her cheeks too changed...She knew no flaws and was with a golden heart...She had teachers unfashionable but honest and pure. She read about the Great Philosophers in awe. And today, she has become the breaking news for the media. .
Suddenly, she started sweeping away in the wind. She dissolved in the wind. Her presence empowered each molecule in it.
Same wind might have entered into the lungs and body of each living being in this world. Didn’t you feel her presence????
What we have done for her? What steps have we taken for the protection of girls and women?
Hasn’t this become a common news, now-days?- about babies, girls, and even woman officials are being torn down for the lust of flesh??Who can escape from these morons?
But it is not far that this turbulent wind enters their lungs and nostrils, chocking them to death. Each one of us are culprits and answerable to Nirbhaya and many others.
Can’t you hear her, whimpering in the wind ----“WAKE UP…..DO SOMETHING……PLEASE ACT NOW”

Movie Review Eat Pray Love (2010)

Movie Review

Eat Pray Love (2010)

deepsrecipes movie review Eat Pray Love

 I always felt out of place with the world around me. I seek something always. I am restless, because I feel I cannot waste my time. I am here to do something, and that “something” needs preparation; even though I have no idea what that “something” is! Thus I started learning new things, each day. Started writing down my thoughts. It was difficult for me in the beginning, as I started this exercise lately in my life. I started enjoying solitude, that I always did though,but now  more effectively. At the end of the day, I ask myself, what new knowledge I've earned today. I became a more positive person .I deliberately overlooked the negativity around me;

Before, as any girl "of our generation",I too was frivolous. But I always had many scattered thoughts and imaginations.I didn't simply realize that I needed to organize my thoughts.
But now ,difference is that, my mind has opened;towards, my soul and eternity, may be?
So,as someone rightly said, I too hope in this..
"awareness of the need to change is the beginning of change" .

This apparently is the situation of the center character Liz Gilbert starring Julia Roberts in the movie “Eat Pray Love”;Story by Elizabeth Gilbert.

She and her family are typical New Yorkers. One night, as she feels empty inside, she decides to pray to GOD,for the first time in her entire life. She feels like, her life lacks something. At that phase of her life, she  decides to quit her somewhat perfect life; wishes to get separated from her husband, even without any attempt to mend their relation. Personally speaking ,this is something that I cannot agree with .If you cannot deal with another person, that means it is time to look into yourself and correct yourself first and then try to give other person a chance to contemplate with the problem.

Anyways, bored of her stagnant married life, she even tries extra marital affair. But failed miserably since she was not very good at it and identifies herself that she needed something else. Needed to recharge and rejuvenate. She realizes that when our mind is discharged, we are unable to lead a happy life with almost any one. My take on this is; you cannot search and run for love; it just happens. She deliberately trying for it is devastating for her as a woman.

After divorce, she goes to Italy, where she finds food as an addictive .Good food and learning Italian language become her routine there. But it is from Italy, that, for the first time, she learns to enjoy her solitude, doing nothing or not worrying about anything. Many of us forget this simple thing. When we get a Pizza, we will not enjoy it, affected by guilt of gaining weight.
This is the first lesson I found interesting in the movie, to start with. Once you master this art of finding pleasure in every minute thing, only then you can control your thoughts and feelings.

So this movie is all about Liz Gilbert’s travel and life to find her inner self. Looking into the story, in a more spiritual way, I feel that even her boy friend had a vital role in solving her life’s quest, as he was the one who introduced her with his Guru, an Indian Yogini, the reason she later travels to India.
But after her experience with meditation and Ashram life in India she understands
"GOD DWELLS WITHIN YOU AS YOU". So she decides to go back to her routine life, content this time.
So the interesting part of the movie, for me is that,we get to see many  Alchemists helping to find her way through her search to find herself - this is our own experience in real life:once you set off searching yourself .

from India, finally ,she heads off to Bali,Indonesia, where she finds her love and the movie ends on a happy note.

So, overall, this movie, being a Memoir of Elizebeth Gilberts  travel around the world, is a lesson to girls of all ages. I believe that female mind at any age has certain basic tendencies; Our thought process change at different ages as we grow up; women are powerful, but that power needs to be triggered from childhood into right direction. She needs guidance to look with in her; to find her true purpose of life by herself, instead of  following someone else's life.More than anything else, girls must be taught to lead a balanced life .

Okay…these were my thoughts and soliloquy …so,now the interesting part…Whats that? Yeah, obviously, one recipe..

A simple starter item.

Italian Cracker with Topping

Easy Starter recipe;Italian Cracker with Topping
