Flax Seed Muffins recipe

One of the readers requested me to post some recipes with flax seed.So I hope she is reading this . Flax seeds are the most nutritious meal .Its very low in Cholesterol and Sodium. It contains high levels of dietary fiber. Flax seeds lower cholesterol. It has a great medicinal value. So include flax seeds in your every day diet. Every morning, you can even take a tablespoon of flax seed powder dissolved in water. Add some flax seed powder with any other flour in any of your recipes such as pan cake or baked items. Enough of health talks. Now let’s begin. Ingredients Flax seed powder-1 cup Plain Flour -1/2 cup Salt- a pinch Baking soda-1 tsp Oil- 2 tab sp Warm water/butter milk – 1 cup Cinnamon powder-1tsp Vanilla essence-1tsp Blue berries-1/2 cup Brown sugar-3/4 cup Method of preparation Using a fork, mix flax seed powder, flour, salt, brown sugar, cinnamon powder and baking soda well. Falooda (Chilled drink-dessert)

Want to try something exotic,slightly different from the usual desserts?Here's a choice. Falooda is a cold dessert ,a deliciously soothing drink popular in all parts of India,especially Mumbai and its surrounding cities. This is a summer drink  in Pakistan,Iran and other Asian countries.Falooda is originally from Persia,brought to India during Mughal period. Falooda is similar to Thai Basil seed drink , Nam manglak. Let's see how to make this royal dessert. Ingredients Milk            - 1cup Icecream of your choice - 1scoop (for 1 glass of Falooda) Basil seeds - 2 tsp Rose syrup-2 tsp Strawberry Jelly - 2 -3 spoons Vermicelli - 2 tsp Method of preparation Boil some water and cook vermicelli until its tender.(Just like you would cook pasta) Strain and keep aside to cool. Boil milk and simmer it to get thickened a little .Add sugar and Pistachio, then chill it . Soak Basil seeds in water for 5 minutes.Drain and keep aside. Finally assemble the Falooda. T


Planning for a party? Make it more elegant with a mouth melting dessert .Coffee flavored, rich and creamy Tiramisu w ith crunchy walnuts and cocoa powder on top.Perfect end to a wonderful  meal. Easiest recipe ever. Here we go. Ingredients Lady Finger Biscuits - 10 nos Mascarpone cheese/Any cream cheese - 1/2 cup Sugar  - 1/2 cup Egg yolks- 2 nos Walnuts Cocoa powder. Method Of Preparation Make a cup of strong coffee and cool it. Beat egg yolks with sugar.(Instead of eggs,you can use fresh cream and  beat it till  stiff) Now add cream cheese and beat well to make a smooth fluffy mixture .Add some coffee to this.Mix well . Now dip lady fingers in coffee and arrange them into a layer  in a rectangle dish .Start to distribute the cream to get a cream layer. Repeat the step with biscuit and cream .Now top with cream. Garnish with walnuts and cocoa powder. Refrigerate it for 6-8 hrs. Yummy,mouth melting Tiramisu is ready !!

How to make a perfect Poached Egg (Breakfast Recipe)

Looking for a very quick break fast recipe? Poached eggs are a great option to start a day healthy. Poached eggs are cooked by being simmered in   hot water and so contain all the nutrients of the egg with out any added fat . Making a perfect poached egg is a little tricky.But it's fun! Method Boil water in a sauce pan.Add some salt to the water. Crack an egg to a small bowl. When salt water  starts boiling, reduce heat and stir the water anti clockwise and make a whirl pool. Carefully drop the egg to the center of the whirlpool. Cover and simmer for 3-5 .                                                                                      Traditionally,egg yolk will be undisturbed inside,but I made it half cooked to suit my family's  taste. Drizzle pepper powder and serve immediately.

Chocolate Doughnuts Recipe

 Wonder what could be that tasty yet healthy snack in their tiffin  box? Here is a choice . A healthy way to make doughnuts. Ingredients For the dough Warm milk- 1 cup Yiest       - 5 tsp sugar   - 1/4 cup Mashed potatoes -1/2 cup Oil  -  2 tbsp All purpose flour - 2 cups salt     - 1/2 tsp Oil to fry- Instead you can bake them to make  healthier doughnuts . Preparation  Add 5 tsp yiest to 1 cup warm milk and add a tsp sugar to activate the yiest. Pour this mix to the flour , add 1/2 cup mashed potatoes,salt, 2tbsp oil ,sugar and knead well. ( Mashed potatoes make the snack more healthy.) Keep aside for 10 minutes. Deep fry on a medium heat until light golden brown colour. Or bake them in preheated oven at 350 for 15-20 minutes . For Chocolate glazing Mix 2 tbsp warm milk with 1 tbsp cocoa powder and a tsp of butter .Make it thick creamy sauce. Dip warm doughnuts into the glaze and lay them on a flat surface. Sprinkle powdered sugar or candy pieces.

Spaghetti Bolognese

Looking for a hot hearty meal for one of those rainy or winter nights? Here is a suggestion.This is a quick method to make spaghetti bolognese. Ingredients Olive oil - 2tsp Minced chicken sausages-5 nos Onion-1 Large sized ,finely chopped Garlic - 3 cloves Green chillies-2 Tomatoes- 2 medium sized Bay leaves-2 Thyme-1 tsp Oregano-1tsp Salt - to taste Pepper powder -2 tsp Preparation Method 1 .Cook spaghetti in plenty of  boiling salted water.Till done al dente. Drain and apply butter. 2 .In a heavy-based saucepan add 2 tsp olive oil and saute  minced sausages ,bay leaves,chopped garlic, salt and thyme for 4- 5 minutes.(Instead, if you want to follow traditional method ,use minced meat or chopped bacon.) Add finely chopped onion and green chillies.Cook until onion turns soft .Now puree 2 fresh tomatoes in a blender and add them . Add pepper powder,cook for 3 -5 minutes.Finally add oregano. Now pour this Bolognese sauce over the spaghetti. Serve hot.

Eggplant Curry (North Indian Style)

Baingan Ka Bharta is a very simple North Indian eggplant dish eaten with rice or Indian breads. Ingredients for the curry Eggplants- 3 nos Ginger-one very small piece Garlic –3 cloves Crushed garam masala-(Clove-2, Cardamom-2, cinnamon -2*1” piece) Onion – 1 small size Tomatoes- 2 Greenchilli-2 Chilli powder-1-1/2 tsp Turmeric -1/2 tsp Salt – to taste Lemon juice-1 tsp Preparation Drizzle some olive oil/canola oil on the eggplants. Keep them in microwave high temperature for 4 minute. Cool and peel the skin. Mash them to a fine paste. Now in a sauce pan, add 1 tabsp olive oil. Add crushed (Clove-2, Cardamom-2, cinnamon -2*1” piece) spices, ginger and garlic paste and fry well. Add onion finely chopped. Add tomatoes, green chillies, turmeric powder, and chilli powder. Fry for 2 minutes .Add mashed eggplant and salt. This is the time you have to be really careful. Stir the mix and wait until the oil separates from it. Now put a ts

Eggless Chocolate mocha cake with cream cheese frosting

 Here is a super simple recipe for a soft tasty chocolate mocha cake.  Soft and  rich eggless cake in less than 10 minutes. This is my version of eggless chocolate cake, after trying all those recipes by others. Step 1 Dry Ingredients Cocoa powder    --- ½ cup All purpose flour – 1-1/4 cup Baking powder - 1 tsp Baking soda   - 1 tsp Salt                 - ¼ tsp Whisk dry ingredients together with a fork. No need to sieve. Step 2 Butter         - 75-80 g Dark chocolate –20 g Oil                     - 1 tab sp Yogurt           -- 1 cup Sugar              -- ¾ cup Coffee           --- 1 tsp dissolved in 2 tab sp hot water. Vanilla essence – 1tsp In a sauce pan melt 80g butter, add chocolate and melt. Cool the mix. Combine dry ingredients, butter-chocolate mix, oil, sugar, yogurt and coffee, mix well. Add enough water/buttermilk to get a dropping consistency. Bake in a microwave high power for 6 minutes. You will get very high cake .

Kachori Recipe

Gujarati Kachori Kachori is a common snack in various parts of India,including UP,Delhi,Rajastan,Maharashtra,Gujarat etc. It is one of our favorite snack from Chopatti.  Chowpatti is a Marathi word with the meaning 'beach'. In India we can find tasty snacks in small shops called Chowpatti at the beach sides and road sides.  When we make these snacks at home,we can choose good quality oil and fresh ingredients.Kachories are available in a variety of textures and tastes, balancing sweetness with spice and tang.
