Kids Pizza


easy,delicious Kids pizza with eggs

This Kids Pizza is just a trial from deepsrecipes which turned out to be tasty .Topping can be anything you like,but here we are using egg omelet strips,bell peppers and lot of Mozzarella cheese.

Ingredients
For the Pizza dough
All purpose flour-1-1/2 cups
Whole meal-1/2 cup
Dry yeast -5g
sugar -2tsp
salt-to taste
Add 2 tbsp warm water to the yeast and 2 tsp sugar.Keep aside for 5 minutes.
Make a smooth dough with flour,yeast and salt by adding water carefully.
Keep aside for 30 minutes.
Now after 30 minutes beat the dough with the back of your hand .Make big balls out of this and keep aside for 10 more minutes.Now these balls will become double in size.
Ingredients for the Topping.
Pizza sauce-
Omelette cut into strips-
Bell pepper -Chopped/if your kid is not a big fan of Bell peppers,you can even puree to make it go along with Mozzarella.
Mozarella cheese
Pepper and Oregano
Method Of Preparation 
Take one ball from the pizza dough and make a small base (just how the kids pizzas are)

Apply the toppings and drizzle some olive oil.Bake for 10 minutes at maximum oven temperature.
Serve hot.

Kerala Fish Curry

Kerala Fish Curry-in 3 minutes-easy fish

Fish- Any white fish-200g
Shallots-10-15nos
(Or you can use 1 chopped onion)
Ginger -Garlic paste-1tsp
Chilly powder-1tbsp
Turmeric powder- a pinch
Salt-to taste
Kokum-4-5nos
(You can use white vinegar instead)
Curry leaves-
Coconut oil-2tsp
Method Of preparation
In a sauce pan(If you have clay pot,like the one in the picture above,it's the best for this dish) pour
 1-1/2 cups of water.
Add all ingredients except Fish and coconut oil.
When it starts boiling,add the fish.
Let it cook for 3-5 minutes until the fish is tender and the sauce starts to thicken.
Pour the oil and add some more curry leaves.
Best curry with white rice/Tapioca.
This is a special,traditional delicacy from Kerala.

Fish -
All purpose flour-2tbsp
Eno Fruit Salt-1/2 tsp (You can also use baking powder )
Fennel powder-1-2 tsp
Paprika-1tbsp
Garlic paste-1/2 tsp
Salt-to taste
Oil-2tbsp(for shallow frying)
Mix all ingredients with warm water to get a thick batter.Dip fish pieces and shallow fry..

You can also serve this with finger chips or mashed potatoes.

Fish in Banana Leaf

Any Kerala style fish fry is delicious ,but this recipe is the king of all.

Karimeen Pollichathu-fish fry
Fish Fry in Banana leaf.
This fish fry is healthy since this is cooked, wrapped in banana leaf thus making it less oily.You can use aluminium foil to wrap the fish and instead of frying,bake it in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 10-15 minutes.
INGREDIENTS
Any big fish-Pearl spot fish/King fish-2 nos (here I have used King fish)
Onion-1 small
Shallots-1 cup
Garlic-4 cloves
Curry leaves-use liberally
Chilly powder-2 tbsp(add less if you don't want spicy)
Turmeric powder-1tsp
Pepper powder-2tsp
Tomato-1 small
Vinegar-1tbsp
Salt-to taste
Garam masala powder-1tsp
Coconut oil-1tbsp
Banana leaf or aluminium foil
Method of preparation
1.Wash and clean fish.
2.Sprinkle salt,chilly powder and garam masala powder on fish pieces and shallow fry in 1 tsp oil.Add curry leaves to the oil.

3.Make a masala with shallots now.
Heat a pan and add oil.Saute chopped shallots ,Onion chopped,salt and curry leaves.
When it turns brown add in tomato,chilly powder,turmeric powder,salt,vinegar,curry leaves and pepper powder.Saute well and cook.When the tomatoes dissolve in onion mixture,turn off the heat.
4.Now coat this masala on shallow fried fish pieces.
5.Keep the banana leaf on low,direct flame and wilt it slightly.
Now keep the fish inside this banana leaf and wrap it completely; as in the picture.
Add 2 tsp oil to a pan and shallow fry for 3 minutes each on both sides.
You can also use the oven for this.
Serve hot.

Indian Pudding Recipe

Bengal gram has low glycemic index and can be included under weight loss diet.
In that aspect,this recipe is a fresh option for those under weight loss regime.I am so happy to share this wonderful dessert from India.
Bengal gram pudding recipe-Low calorie dessert

INGREDIENTS
Split Bengal gram(skinless)- 1 cup
Jaggery-200 g
Milk(low fat)- 1/2 cup
Coconut milk(thin)-3 cups
Thick coconut milk-1/2 cup
Cumin powder-2 tsp
For Garnish
Cashew nuts
Raisins
Ghee-1tsp
Method Of Preparation
1.Wash and soak split bengal gram seeds for 30 minutes.
Cook it(split bengal gram(also called Chana dal in Hindi)) until its almost mushy.Use a pressure cooker for this.
LOW FAT CHANA DAL COOKED
2.Now in a non stick pan,add the cooked bengal gram along with melted jaggery and stir until the mixture cooks well in jaggery and starts coming out from the pan.

Once it's ready,the texture will be like the one in the picture below.
COOKED BENGAL GRAM IN JAGGERY
Now add in 1 cup of low fat milk and mix well.
When the mixture turns almost dry,pour in 3 cups of thin coconut milk.
Add in 2 tsp cumin powder.
Cook until the milk gets thickened.Switch off the fire.
Finally,pour 1/2 cup very thick coconut milk .Very delicious,thick pudding is ready.
Garnishing
In 1 tsp ghee,fry cashew nuts and raisins.Pour this on top of the pudding.Serve chilled .

This is a low calorie,vegetarian recipe.Specially made with all nutritious,low fat ingredients.
This can be a great healthy,energy giving snack for kids.
We are using semolina,almonds,bran flakes etc;for this reason,this laddoo can be a choice for those on diet.
Sugar used in recipe is not a negative point compared to the other important ingredients like bran.Bran is a vital substance that provide dietary fiber and essential fatty acids.
INGREDIENTS
Semolina-1 cup
Bran flakes-1/2 cup
Almonds-1/4 cup
Sugar-As per required
Dry Coconut-2 tbsp
Cardamom powder-1tsp
Low fat milk-2 tbsp
Pistachios for garnishing.
Method Of preparation
Fry semolina on medium heat in a dry pan.

Strawberry Short Cake Recipe

Today,Deepsrecipes is sharing,the MOST FAMOUS STRAWBERRY SHORT CAKES...!!!
Short cake recipe has many variations.This one is a very quick ,delicious method, tried and tested and the results were great.Sharing this wonderful recipe here.
You can even use this as a simple birthday cake.

Ingredients
For the short cake
Flour-2cups
Baking powder-1tbsp
Sugar-5tbsp
Butter-80 g
Oil-1tbsp
Buttermilk-1 cup 
Vanilla essence-2tsp
For Filling
Fresh Strawberry-8-10 no
Sugar-2tbsp
Heavy Cream-1cup
Vanilla essence-1tsp
Icing sugar-2 tsp
Crush the strawberries with fingers and add in the sugar.Keep this refrigerated for 30 minutes-1 hr.

Method of preparation
Mix all dry ingredients for the cake.
Cut  the butter into the dry flour mixture and mix with fingers until the mixture is coarse.
Pour in the buttermilk little by little and make a thick batter.(Thicker than usual cake batter)
Now bake for 30-40 minutes in a preheated oven at 180 degrees or until the top turns golden brown.
Cool the cake well.

Filling
Beat the cream,icing sugar and vanilla until you get fluffy peaks.
Cut the cake horizontally with a serrated knife into 2 or 3 layers.I made 2 cakes at a time,using the same batter above.
Add one layer of crushed strawberry filling on the cake layer.Then whipped cream,now,close this with another layer of cake.Repeat the layering process.You can serve this chilled topped with whipped cream.
But,I have coated the whole cake with whipped cream.

Masala Chicken is a special recipe from deepsrecipes.Here we are preparing a masala which gives all the taste to the curry.This masala is closely related to the dry masala that Tribal people make and carry with them when they travel from one place to another in the forest.Once they get any animal they mix the masala and cook it right away.But the taste is so authentic and lip smacking.
But this recipe is just a trial from deepsrecipes.We can make the masala beforehand and can store it refrigerated.

Ingredients
Chicken-500 g 
For the Special masala-
Onion-2big
Ginger-1 small piece
Garlic-4-5 cloves
Tomato-1 big
Coriander dry seeds-1tbsp
Red chilly dry-8-9 no
Pepper corns-1 tsp
Salt-to taste
Curry leaves-
Fry all these ingredients in 1 tbsp oil.Grind it into a fine paste.
Coat the chicken with the masala.

Pour 1/2 cup water and cook well in a nonstick pan.Stir occasionally.
Cook until all the water dries up and then pour some oil and lightly fry it.
