Mustard Fish curry is a popular Bengali dish.(West Bengal is a state in Eastern India.)You get this recipe online ,so what is new in this? Let's check. Bengali cuisine uses the strong flavor of mustard oil in most of their recipes.I know,many of us may not like the flavor.So here,we are not using mustard oil,instead,adding yellow mustard paste to vegetable oil.Also we are adding a paste of mustard seeds with coconut,same as Bengali fish curry recipe. Wishing all Indians a very Happy Holi... I really like Indian sweet Gujiya.This sweet is a must delicacy on Holi day.So why not we try this gujiya today? As always,this is an easy version of the traditional recipe.One thing that is guaranteed is the taste.We are using coconut ,Kalonji and dry fruits as the filling. Ingredients For the filling  Cashew nuts Raisins Almonds Dry Apricots Kalonji/Black seeds(Nigella sativa) Coconut dry/fresh -grated finely Cardamom Powder- /2 tsp Powdered sugar- 4 tbsp Mix all ingredients as shown in the picture below. Filling itself is so tasty and so try not to devour it off before we actually proceed with Gujiya recipe.!! Green Peas Pulao

Here is one  Quick and Easy Recipe for lunch or dinner. To prepare this Indian Pulao , You require Good Quality Basmati Rice- 1 1/2 cups Ginger Paste-1 tsp Onion - 1 small chopped Green Chilly Paste -  1 tsp Garam Masala Crushed -with Cinnamon as main ingredient. Fresh Green Peas boiled- 1/2 cup Salt - to taste Olive oil- 1 tbsp fresh Mint leaves paste- 1 tbsp (optional)- You can use fresh coriander leaves too. Method of preparation of Peas Pulao Step1 Boil Rice until almost done. Do not cook it well. Step 2 Boil Green peas with a little bit salt using very little water until well done. Step 3. Heat oil in a sauce pan. Add onion,ginger paste,green chilly paste and saute well. Add garam masala. Add the cooked peas and mix well. Add half cooked rice and salt.Finally add mint(puthina)paste and mix well with out breaking the rice. Paneer or Cottage Cheese is a fresh cheese common in South Asian Cuisine.Mint Paneer tikka is so delicious and healthy.Traditionally,Tikkas  are grilled in a tandoor and the dish is thereafter served hot. Here,to make Paneer tikka,I used  Table top Grill ,which gives almost same texture to the tikka as it is made in tandoor.We can even use grilling pan,on stove top. Deepsrecipes wishes all , a very Happy Independence Day 2013: Celebrate this great day with a simple dessert ,CHINA GRASS MANGO PUDDING. Mango Pudding Wishing you all an independent, peaceful & better days ahead. Ingredients: Milk-4 cups China grass (AGAR AGAR)- 1 cup (10 gms) Mango - 2 nos Cream - 2 tbsp Sugar- 1 cup  Vanilla Essence- 1 tsp Biscuit crumbs- 1-2 cups Method Of Preparation Boil Milk .Cut china grass into very small pieces using scissors. Add these pieces into the milk and boil until china grass melts. Stir the boiled milk well so that china grass dissolves completely. Sieve this mix to remove any undissolved china grass. This recipe is an easy Chicken dry fry with only 2 tsp oil. Ingredients Chicken -500 g Ginger-garlic paste-2tsp Red chilly powder-3tsp Coriander powder-1tsp Pepper Powder-1 tsp Coriander leaves- Soy sauce- 1 tbsp Tomato sauce- 1-2 tsp Cinnamon and Clove powder- 1 tsp Salt - to taste Method Of Preparation Marinate chicken with all the ingredients. In a pan add 2 tsp oil.Add chicken and cook until done.No need to add any water. Once all the water that has come from the chicken is absorbed and the chicken is done,add coriander leaves and more pepper powder according to your taste. Serve with fried rice or any kind of bread.

Chicken Cafreal

Chicken cafreal is a Goan recipe. This dish is greenish brown in color.Here I have not followed the exact recipe,innovated to get more taste.Please try out and comment. Ingredients Chicken -1 full chicken cut into medium sized pieces. Onion- 2big cut into rings Salt and sugar. Oil- 1 tbsp for grilling Marinade Garlic-ginger paste-1 tbsp Coriander-1/2 bunch Tamarind paste-or Vinegar-2 tbsp Green Chillies-4 no Pepper corns- 1 tbsp Coriander powder- 1 tbsp (Optional-not in the original recipe) Garam Masala-1 -2 tsp Method of preparation 1. Make a cafreal marinade and marinate the chicken for 4 hours. for the marinade  Grind all the ingredients under marinade. This will give you a green color paste.Use chicken stock if needed.Coat the chicken with marinade and salt.Keep refrigerated for 4 hours. Pepper Gobi is a grilled fry made from cauliflower in pepper and soy sauce. Very delicious and healthy.Cauliflower has got great nutritional value as it contains high amount of folate, vitamin C and dietary fiber.  Ingredients Cauliflower florets-Big pieces Garlic chopped-2-3 cloves Ginger-garlic paste-2tsp Onion-1 big no Corn flower-2 tbsp Pepper-1 tbsp Soy sauce-1 -2 tsp Salt-to taste Parsley leaves- Method Of Preparation 1 .Clean the florets under running water.Then dip them for 6-8 minutes in boiling water after adding salt and 1/2 tsp vinegar to the water.Drain. 2. Marinate with ginger garlic paste,salt,pepper,soy sauce and cornflower  with out adding water. 3. Grill it on a grill pan after adding very little oil. This recipe is very Indian,delicious and flavorful. Lean Beef i s said to be very healthy; high in iron,protein and B-complex vitamins. This recipe uses very less oil.Beef supplies abundant amount of key nutrients needed for us especially children. Palak Paratha(Spinach Bread)

Spinach Paratha India is famous for its varieties of flat breads called Chapatis or Parathas.We can make this in many ways.Here I am showing a very simple version of Spinach Paratha.This is similar to Spinach pie. Ingredients Whole wheat flour-2 cups Warm water-2 tbsp Salt Spinach leaves-1 bunch Coriander powder-1tsp Cumin Powder(Optional)-1/2 tsp Method Of Preparation 1. Boil water after adding some salt.Wash the spinach leaves and when water starts boiling ,add spinach into this and turn off the heat. After 2 minutes take spinach from the water and allow it to cool. 2. Make a smooth paste with spinach,add in the coriander and cumin powders,mix well. 3. Make a smooth chapati dough with Wheat flour,salt,spinach paste and warm water.Add the water only if it is needed. Now make small balls from the dough and roll it flat into Parathas. So here is a simple recipe for Wheat Laddu/Laddoo.This is a healthy Laddoo for kids especially. This recipe contains  wheat flour and nuts with some butter and sugar.Replace butter with low fat margarine and sugar with Jaggery/sugar substitute .Then this can be a completely healthy snack.
