Pasta With Mixed Herbs n Cream Wish you all a wonderful New Year 2012.. Pasta with Italian herbs …in cream..Yummy, right? Yeah, a bit heavy but a sure-fire kids pleaser. And this would take hardly 5 minutes to prepare. You can use fresh Italian herbs if you have it, great way to increase the flavor. Very healthy preparation, very delicious… Let’s start.. Ingredients Wheat Pasta-1 cup Mixed Italian Fresh Herbs-I used Thyme, Rosemary and Oregano-2tsp altogether. (Try to include fresh Basil leaves, since it brings the real flavor of the cuisine.) Butter-1tsp Garlic-1 clove finely chopped Heavy Cream-2tbsp Onion-1/2 chopped Walnuts crushed-Bountiful Green Chili- 1 small   (Instead of chili,You can use white Pepper powder-) Method of preparation Cook Pasta according to packet instructions. Easy Vegetable Rice~kids recipe

This is a quick and simple biriyani or very healthy, vegetable rice. My son was told to bring vegetable pulao for a potluck kid’s party. I made this item for the kids. They enjoyed it, since it’s less spicy and having an appealing smell of Mint leaves and other spices. This is nicer when it’s cold, so u can even send this in the lunch box for the kids who like rice. Ingredients Vegetables-Carrot, beans, corn, Onion, Tomato, Cabbage-1/2 cup Rice-2cups Ghee-2tsp Oil-1tsp Mint leaves-1/2 cup Yogurt-1tbsp Ginger-garlic-green chili paste-1tbsp Salt-to taste Sugar-1tsp Saffron-4-5 strands (Optional) Cashews, Raisins- Black Cardamom, cloves, Fennel seeds, Cinnammon-Powdered 1-2 tsp Method Cook rice after adding water just to cover it. Mushroom Pepper Fry

Mushroom Pepper fry is a very simple and quick recipe. You can have this with Fried Rice . Try this method and enjoy the fabulous taste at home. Cleaning mushroom in proper method is the most important part. Coat the mushrooms with some salt, turmeric and all purpose flour. Keep aside for 5 minutes. Now wash them under running water.  This is to remove any poisonous substances from it. Now boil 1 cup water, add salt and turmeric powder. Put the cleaned mushrooms in this water for 2 minutes. Now mushrooms are ready to cook. Ingredients Cleaned Mushroom-1 cup Pepper powder-1tbsp Salt-to taste Curry leaves- Onion-1 big finely chopped. Fish Curry-South Kerala Style

This is a very delicious fish curry from the southern region of Kerala. This recipe I got from a cookery show. I am trying to stick to the original recipe since it’s a recipe inherited from ancestors. This is a bit different from the usual fish curry. Try this one with any fish that’s available to you and enjoy this lip smacking curry!! Ingredients King fish-1/2 kg Ginger-1 tbsp Onion/Shallots-1/2 cup Kokum-12 no’s Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp Coconut-1 cup Dry red chili-10 no’s Coriander seeds-1/4 cup Method of preparation Step1 Clean the fish. In a heavy bottom vessel, pour 1 cup of water(or the water enough to cover the fish). Boil the water with Kokum (U must use 10-12 no’s), curry leaves, salt and turmeric powder. When it starts boiling add fish pieces and cook  on medium fire. After the fish is fully cooked, you can remove the Kokum from the gravy. Step2 Dry roast coconut on a dry pan. Vegetable Fried Rice

Veg.Fried Rice Chinese Fried rice is quick and easy to cook and every one’s favorite too. This is a basic recipe for fried rice. You can add in eggs, shrimp, sausages or chicken to this, according to your taste buds. Ingredients Cooked rice- 2 cups Mixed vegetables-1 cup Spring Onion/Scallions-1/2 cup Red chili-2no Garlic-1 finely chopped Ginger-Julian cut 2 tsp Salt-to taste Worcester  sauce-2 tbsp How to do Heat a wok, add 1 tbsp oil. Add in red chili flakes and garlic chopped. Add ½ cup scallions,ginger and 1 cup mixed veggies. (I prefer French beans, carrots, bell pepper, mushrooms) Saute  well and stir fry. Add the cooked rice, salt and  Worcester  sauce. Now mix well and close the wok and ke ep it on medium fire for 10 minutes. Garnish with spring onion. Serve hot with any side dish you prefer.
